Sandra Marques grew up in São Paulo, Brazil, where she sang in church choirs and later studied music at a conservatory. In 1995, she joined the band Novo Tom, which mixed Brazilian rhythms with pop sounds. Her vocals became a recognizable part of their work during that period.
She started recording as a solo artist in 2001 with a self-titled debut album. The song "Cheios do Espírito" came out in 2003 and became widely known in Brazilian Christian circles. Other tracks like "Minha Adoração" and "Poderoso Deus" also appear in her catalog.
After that breakthrough, she released several more albums including "Deus é Contigo" in 2005, "Para Sempre" in 2008, and "Tudo Novo" in 2011. Her music stays within the contemporary Christian genre, often built around straightforward melodies and devotional lyrics.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
