A Buenos Aires-born artist who blended romantic ballads with rock influences across more than 50 albums.
For his rock side, try "Tutti Frutti"; for the ballads, "Ave de Paso" holds up. Both feel like him.
Sandro's 1967 hit "Porque Yo Te Amo" broke him internationally, and songs like "Ave de Paso" show how he mixed rock energy with tender balladry. He kept recording through personal controversies and health struggles, including a double lung transplant in 2000. That persistence left a deep catalog, from early rock covers to later romantic tracks.
He started with Los Caniches de Oklahoma in 1961, drawing from Elvis Presley. After "Porque Yo Te Amo" took off in 1967, he released albums like "Quiero Llenarme de Ti" in 1970. He performed until his death in 2010, despite emphysema and a transplant.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
