Sandro Costa e Silva and Juliano César da Silva grew up together in Jataí, a small town in Goiás, Brazil. They started playing music together in 1996 and put out their first album, 'Pra Sempre Te Amarei,' the next year. The title track from that record caught on quickly, and they built a reputation for energetic live shows.
In 2002, Sandro had surgery for a vocal cord condition and came back to performing. They kept recording through the 2000s, and their 2010 album 'Agora Vai Ser Diferente' gave them another hit with the same name. That song, along with tracks like 'Sou eu,' became staples in their setlists.
They recorded more than a dozen studio albums together before their partnership ended. Their music stayed rooted in the sertanejo style they came up with, built around straightforward melodies and lyrics about relationships.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
