Sandy e Alê were a Brazilian pop duo made up of siblings Sandy Leah and Alê. They started in the mid-1980s, and their 1988 single "A Fila" became a hit. Songs like "Pensando Em Mim" and "Linhas Que Trago" show their style of harmonized vocals over straightforward pop arrangements.
They released several albums through the 1990s, including Sandy e Alê (1989), Dois (1990), and Sonho Azul (1991). Their music sometimes touched on country and rock, but stayed mostly within pop. In 1991, Alê was arrested for marijuana possession, which caused some public discussion at the time.
Later albums like Quatro Estações (1992) and Pra Você (1994) kept them on Brazilian charts. They also did some acting in television series. The duo recorded live albums and acoustic sessions, including Sandy e Alê Acústico MTV in 2001. They put out a return album in 2019 called Sandy e Alê: O Retorno.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
