San's Mustache formed in Bogotá, Colombia in the late 1990s. The band included Santiago Cruz on vocals and guitar, Fernando Buitrago on bass and vocals, and Fabián Echeverry on drums. They released their self-titled debut album in 2001.
That first album contained 'Da Falta de Amor,' a song about lost love that became their breakout track. They followed it with several more records over the next decade and a half, including 'El Niño de la Sudadera' in 2003 and 'Alegría' in 2015.
Some of their lyrics drew criticism from conservative listeners who found them too suggestive. The band kept writing anyway, putting out songs like 'Escuridão' and 'Recomeçar' that connected with fans in Colombia and elsewhere.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
