Santamontaña formed in Bogotá, Colombia, with Catalina Garcia and Juan Pablo Villamil meeting at a music festival in 2002. Ricardo Jaramillo joined the trio in 2007. Their music draws from traditional Colombian and Andean folk influences.
Their song "Amor" appeared on the 2015 album El Amanecer. Garcia's vocals and the melody gave the track its recognizable quality.
They've released several records, including Santamontaña in 2007 and En Tu Presencia in 2022.
