Santiago Rodrigues is a Portuguese singer-songwriter from Lisbon, born in 1976. He started releasing music in the early 2000s, putting out his debut album 'Luz Negra' in 2004. His sound draws from traditional fado, though he's explored other styles over time.

His breakthrough came with the 2011 album 'Marinheiro', which included the song 'Acalma-me Por Favor'. That track became his most recognized work, a quiet, melodic piece that connected with listeners. He's released other albums since, like 'Rumo ao Sul' and 'Terra'.

In 2008, he had vocal cord nodules that required surgery and rehabilitation, which threatened his singing career. He recovered and continued making music. Other songs in his catalog include 'Folhas ao Vento', 'Mundo de Pernas Cruzadas', and 'Rosas e Girassóis'.
