Sara Lov was a duo from Amsterdam that formed in the early 1990s, with Sanne Hans on vocals and Marije Spierenburg on guitar. Their first album, simply called "Sara," came out in 1993. They followed it with records like "Jigsaw" in 1997, "2nd Floor" in 2000, and "Invisible Lines" in 2003.
Their songs like "Tell Me How" and "A Thousand Bees" had a quiet, introspective quality that mixed folk with other styles. The music wasn't easy to categorize, which made it hard to market at times, but they kept working at it.
They played a benefit for PETA once, which drew some criticism, but they stood by their support for animal welfare. Their cover of "My Body Is A Cage" shows how they could take a song and make it feel like their own.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
