Archive material and source history
Sarah Johns came out of Los Angeles in the late 2000s. Their debut EP was called 'Lost in the City.' The band's sound had folk and indie rock in it, with Sarah Johnson singing and Alex Rodriguez on guitar, Emily Carter on bass, and Nick Taylor on drums.
In 2012 they put out the album 'A Lot to Let Go Of,' which had the title track and songs like 'Baby My Heart' and 'That's Just Me Getting Over You.' The record got them more attention. Later albums included 'Echoes of Silence' in 2016 and 'The Weight of the World' in 2020.
Some of their other songs were 'He Hates Me,' 'If You Could Hold Your Woman,' and 'It's Hard to Be a Girl / In a Young Man's World.' The writing often dealt with personal matters, and Johns had a direct way of putting things that could stir discussion.
