Sarah Michelle formed in Paris in the early 2000s with Sarah Michelle Lemoigne on vocals, Thomas Roussel on bass, Philippe Cerboneschi on guitar, and Bastien Lemoigne on drums. Their debut album 'Amour et Mort' came out in 2004 and got some attention for its raw approach to dark themes.
Their song 'Je Veux Vivre' became something of an anthem, though their live shows and lyrics were often called provocative. They put out two more albums, 'La Vie en Noir' in 2007 and 'Le Dernier Cri' in 2010, before things wound down.
Sarah Michelle Lemoigne, who wrote most of the material, had some well-documented personal struggles during those years. The band's sound mixed rock with chanson and electronic touches, and another track people remember is 'Ma Besta'.
