Saraí formed in 1999 in Casariche, a small town in Andalusia. The group consists of sisters Dolores Ramos and María José Ramos, along with their cousin Carmen Ruiz. They released their debut album 'Por el Mundo' in 2001, followed by several others including 'Sentidos' in 2003, 'A Tu Lado' in 2005, and 'Candela' in 2007.
Their music blends traditional flamenco with contemporary pop influences. The song 'Candela' appears among their most recognized work. Dolores Ramos handles the main vocals, María José Ramos contributes soprano harmonies, and Carmen Ruiz provides percussion.
Some critics initially resisted their style, but they continued developing their sound across multiple albums. The group's arrangements feature soulful harmonies built around flamenco roots with pop elements.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
