Sarau formed in 2002 as a group of friends making music together. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2005 and included the song 'Meus Amigos,' which became widely popular in Brazil. They followed it with albums like 'Sarau 2' in 2007 and 'Ao Vivo em Copacabana' in 2010.
Their sound mixed samba, funk, and hip-hop, with lyrics that sometimes addressed social issues. Other songs like 'Sai de Casa' and 'A Chave' also became part of their catalog. The band included João 'Molejo' Lima on vocals and guitar, Fred 'Orelha' Guimarães on bass, Paulo 'Pacas' Simões on drums, and Rafael 'Yuki' Monteiro on percussion.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
