Saskia was a Dutch musical ensemble that formed in the early 1990s. The group started as a trio with Jeroen van der Boom on vocals and guitar, Jasper van Hecke on bass and vocals, and Bart van der Weide on drums. They later expanded to include percussionist Teun van der Zalm.
Their 1993 album 'De Tijd' became their most significant work, reaching platinum status and earning an Edison Award. The title track 'De Tijd' became particularly well-known, though its lyrics about time and reflection were sometimes misinterpreted and sparked public debate.
Saskia released four studio albums between 1992 and 1998, including their self-titled debut, 'Ratjetoe' in 1995, and 'Over Tijd' in 1998. Their music combined folk, classical, and electronic elements with lyrics that often explored themes of time and human experience.
