Sátiros formed in São Paulo in 1996. Their debut album came out in 1999, featuring the song 'Adoro Você' that became widely known. They released several more albums in the early 2000s, including 'Só Pra Você' in 2001 and a live recording in 2004.
Their music drew from Brazilian samba and bossa nova traditions while incorporating pop and rock elements. Songs like 'Caio Na Noite' and 'Desencontro' show their melodic approach. The band's lineup included Danilo Ribeiro on vocals and guitar, Márcio Mello on bass, Marcelo Ribeiro on drums, and Mauro Ramos on saxophone.
In 2002, Sátiros were involved in a legal dispute over the rights to 'Adoro Você.' The matter eventually settled, but it highlighted some of the business tensions that can surround popular songs.
