Saulinho Farias was born in Salvador, Bahia in 1953. He started singing and playing guitar early, drawing from the samba and bossa nova traditions around him.
In the 1970s he released the album 'Maria de Betânia,' whose title track became widely known. Other songs like 'Vim Por Você' and 'Anoiteceu' also found an audience.
He put out several albums in those years, including 'Espelho da Alma' in 1976 and 'Luz do Sol' in 1981. He worked with musicians like Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso along the way.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
