Saulo is a Brazilian musician from Salvador, Bahia, whose work draws on local rhythms like samba and axé. He co-founded the band Saulo Fernandes in 1999 with guitarist Buchecha, percussionist Beto Jamaica, and bassist Fábio Almeida.
Their 2002 album "O Canto da Cidade" brought wider attention, particularly through the single "Vaidosa e Toda Prosa a Graminha Vem Aí..." The band's sound mixed Brazilian traditions with contemporary pop and rock elements.
In 2011, the group faced a legal dispute over the use of the name "Saulo Fernandes," which was eventually resolved. Their recordings include live albums from Copacabana and Bahia, along with studio work like "Frevo Multicultural" and "Na Moral do Samba."
