Saulo Fagundes grew up in Campina Grande, Paraíba, where he started playing music early. He listened to forró artists like Luiz Gonzaga and Dominguinhos, which shaped his approach to the accordion-driven sound.
His first album, "Coração Nordestino," came out in 2001. The track "Céu de Anil" got attention for its melody and lyrics, helping him find an audience. Later albums like "Quero Mais" and "Baião das Antigas" kept working within forró while sometimes touching on samba or sertanejo.
He has recorded songs like "Cadê Você" and "À Flor da Pele," and played with musicians including Fagner and Gilberto Gil. In 2009 there was a legal question about who wrote "Céu de Anil," which got settled.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
