Say Yes Dog was a Montreal quartet with Jonathan Cohen on vocals and guitar, Dominic Cieri on guitar, Evan Cranley on bass, and Peter Elkas on drums. They put out their debut album 'The Meaning of Life Is...' in 2002, followed by 'Lessons from the Schoolyard' in 2004.
Their song 'Lies' became their breakout single around that time. In 2005, the band got tangled in a legal dispute over the rights to that song, which involved plagiarism allegations. They eventually won the case, but it was a difficult period.
They released a third album called 'All the Way to the Top' in 2008. The existing history describes it as showing a more polished sound, though it cuts off there.
