Scavenger came together in Santos, São Paulo around the mid-1980s. The band had three members: Igor Cavalera on vocals, João Gordo on bass, and Armando Amado on guitar. Their sound pulled from punk and hardcore, but with a raw, aggressive edge that felt distinctly their own.
Their debut album, 'O Que Você Faz Quando os Zumbis Comem Seu Cérebro?', came out in 1989. It included 'Igor e sua roldana', a track that became something of a signature for them. They followed it with another album called 'Muhaha' in 1992. Other songs in their catalog include 'Menino Nojento', 'Celestino', and 'Etnocídio'.
