Background notes

Archive material and source history

Scrubs was a Canadian rock band that formed in Vancouver in 2002. Their name came from the medical TV show, which they thought matched their lighthearted approach. The original lineup included Marc Broussard on vocals and guitar, Michael Ward on guitar, Jamie Oliver on bass, and Jesse Valenzuela on drums.

In 2005, they released their debut album 'Troubadour,' which featured the single 'Superman.' That song became a hit in Canada and got them some attention internationally. Broussard left the band in 2006, and Jason Plumb joined to handle vocals and guitar.

They put out two more albums, 'The Radio' in 2007 and 'Making Friends and Enemies' in 2010. The band's lineup stayed fairly stable after Plumb came on board, with Ward, Oliver, and Valenzuela remaining through 2012.
