Sebastian Montero came to attention in 2006 with his debut album 'Alma Mía.' The song 'Ángel Divino' from that record became a hit, establishing him with a sound that drew from Mexican folk traditions and operatic vocal styles. Other songs like 'Te Necesito' and 'Amor de Dos' followed in a similar vein of romantic balladry.
He has released several albums over time, including 'Canciones de Amor' in 2008, 'Alma y Corazón' in 2012, and 'Renacer' in 2016. His music sometimes addressed social themes, which led to some friction with more conservative parts of the industry. He worked with artists like Juan Gabriel and Vicente Fernández.
Montero performs with a band that includes guitarist Luis Carlos Monroy, bassist Eduardo García, drummer Carlos González, and keyboardist Miguel Ángel Rodríguez. He is from San Miguel de Allende.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
