Sebastião José came up playing clubs in São Paulo, working out a sound that eventually connected with listeners. Their debut single 'Eu Sou Assim' got some attention, with a straightforward melody and lyrics that felt direct rather than polished.

They've put out a few albums over time, including 'Vida Real' and 'Resistência'. The music pulls from samba and funk, but keeps things fairly grounded rather than trying to fuse too many styles at once.
