Segredos do Sul formed in Florianópolis in 1986. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1988, and they had a hit with "Amar Você É Bom de Mais" a couple of years later.
That song became a major success for the band, which included Paulo Ricardo on vocals, Kiko on guitar, Marcelo on bass, and Fernando on drums. They released several albums through the 1990s, including "Vida Nova" in 1992 and a live album in 1994.
Some critics felt their music became more commercial over time, but they kept working. They put out a compilation in 1999 and marked their 20th anniversary with an album in 2006.
