Sellene formed in Rio de Janeiro in 2005 with vocalist Luna, guitarist Felipe, bassist Andre, and drummer Eduardo. Their debut single "Hoje a Noite" became a national hit in Brazil, built around Luna's vocals and the band's rhythmic pulse.
They released albums like "Noite Tropical" in 2008, "Luz de Lua" in 2012, and "O Som dos Sonhos" in 2018. Felipe left the band in 2010, after which Luna took on lead guitar duties. In 2015, Luna faced plagiarism accusations regarding a song on their album "Aurora," which the band denied.
Sellene has worked with Brazilian singer-songwriter Ivan Lins and jazz pianist Chick Corea. They've performed internationally, though the lineup has shifted over time.
