Separation Is Natural formed in Marietta, Georgia around 2000 with Drew Womack on vocals and guitar, Dale Wilson on bass, and Thomas Daugherty on drums. They put out their first album, 'A Rare Sense of Peace,' in 2003. The band's track 'Hated' became one of their better-known songs.
Their music drew some attention for its darker themes, which didn't sit well with everyone. They kept making records anyway, releasing 'Speak My Name' in 2005 and 'A Lifetime' in 2007. The lineup shifted over time, with Wilson leaving in 2005 and Daugherty departing a decade later.
By 2010 they had put out 'Deadbeat Days.' Other songs like 'So Far Away' and 'Take Everything' round out their catalog. The group's sound leaned into post-hardcore with some metal and noise elements, built around Womack's songwriting.
