That debut record included 'Menino Rebelde,' a song that became their biggest hit. Its follow-up, 'Menino Rebelde Parte 2,' kept the same rebellious spirit alive. The band's lyrics often touched on social and political issues, which sometimes put them at odds with the mainstream.
They released several more albums through the 1980s and early 1990s, including Dois, Três, and Quatro. While they never matched the commercial success of that first single, 'Menino Rebelde' stuck around as an anthem for a certain kind of Brazilian listener.
