September When formed in Stockholm in the early 1990s with Thomas Öberg on vocals, Jonas Von Der Burg on guitars, Stefan Sundström on bass, and Magnus Frykberg on drums. They had some early lineup changes and their first record label folded in 1995, which left them without a home for their music.
In 1996 they signed with Dolores Recordings and released their debut album "Time." That album included "A Place To Stop," which became a hit in Sweden and gave them some international attention. They followed with albums like "September When" in 1997, "A Journey Through Time" in 1999, and "Spaceships Over Glasgow" in 2002.
Around 2003 they got into a legal dispute with Dolores Recordings and eventually left to start their own imprint called September When Records. Their songs like "Broke," "Bullet Me," and "Darker And Later" kept the atmospheric pop and melodic rock sound they'd been working with since the mid-90s.
