Sergio Correa and Paulinho were a Brazilian duo who worked together in the 1980s and 1990s. They came from Goiânia and wrote songs like "Suspende A Saideira," which became one of their best-known tracks. Their 1983 album was called "Nosso Canto," and they followed it with "Canções de Amor" in 1985.
Sergio Correa, born in 1951, sang lead. Paulinho, born in 1953, played guitar and sang backup. Their sound was built around straightforward melodies and lyrics about everyday feelings, which connected with listeners even when some critics found them too simple.
They kept recording through the mid-90s, putting out a compilation called "O Melhor de Sergio Correa e Paulinho" in 1996. Other songs people remember include "Bar da Esquina" and "Ela chora chora."
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
