Sergio Vega

Sergio Vega came up in Sinaloa, where he started playing guitar early on. He put out his first album, 'El Albañil,' when he was about twenty. A few years later, his 1998 album 'A Través de la Luna' became a major hit, with the title track helping to make him a well-known name in Regional Mexican music.

His songs often worked with banda and norteño styles, and he had a run of popular albums in the early 2000s like 'Contigo o Sin Ti' and 'El Rey del Corrido.' Tracks like 'Disculpe Usted' and 'Te han dicho de mi' showed his straightforward approach to corridos and love songs. He played with musicians including accordionist Ramón Ayala.

In 2007, Vega was arrested on drug charges, though he was later acquitted. The case brought some public attention, but he kept recording afterward, releasing albums like 'De Nuevo en Pie' in 2009.
