Sétima Estação formed in 1994 as a Brazilian Christian band. The founding members included vocalist Luciano Manga, vocalist and guitarist Leonardo Gonçalves, guitarist Fábio Aposan, bassist Marquinhos Menezes, and drummer Alex Gonzaga.
Some religious groups interpreted the lyrics as promoting violence against homosexuals, which the band members firmly denied, explaining the song was about struggling against sin and seeking redemption.
