Archive material and source history
The Brazilian rock band 7TH formed in Volta Redonda in 1998. Their music pulled from hard rock and punk, with lyrics that often dealt directly with social tension and violence. The lineup included Alexandre Carlo on vocals, Bruno Sutter on bass, Flávio Ribeiro on drums, and Claudio Botino on guitar.
Their 2002 single "Aberraçao" became a flashpoint. The song's graphic depiction of sexual violence sparked censorship and protests, with some radio stations refusing to play it.
They released albums including '7th' in 2000, 'Aberraçao' in 2002, 'Por Cima e Por Baixo' in 2005, and 'Zona de Risco' in 2010. In 2006, bassist Bruno Sutter was arrested on drug charges, which added to the band's troubled public image and reportedly caused internal strain.
