Seventy Times Seven formed in 1995 in Rio de Janeiro, a Christian band led by vocalist Andre Valadão. They signed with MK Music in 2000 and released their debut album '70x7' that same year. The song 'Nunca Mais (parte 2)' from that album became particularly well-known among their listeners.

Their music blended rock and pop with Brazilian sounds, with songs like 'Prólogo, A Teoria do Semeador' and 'O Desespero de Caim' showing their style. The band's lineup included Mariana Valadão on vocals, Alex Gonzaga on bass, Duda Andrade on drums, and Anderson Freire on keyboards at various points, though Andre remained the consistent presence.

They released several albums including 'Deus Bom' in 2002, 'Milagres' in 2004, and 'Graça' in 2006. In 2005, guitarist Ricardo Carvalhaes left the group. Later albums included 'Horizonte' in 2008, 'Acústico' in 2010, 'Promessas' in 2012, 'Na Eternidade' in 2014, and 'Hosana' in 2016.

Their song 'Milagres' sparked some discussion within Christian circles in 2010. Other tracks like 'Ovelha Perdida', 'Golias No Chão', and 'Judas Iscariotes' continued their pattern of biblically-inspired titles and themes.
