Se7en was a South Korean boy band that formed in the late 1990s. They had seven members, including Choi Dong-wook, Lee Kyung-gyu, Kim Won-geun, Kang Jeong-hoon, Lee Han-gyul, Han Sang-hoon, and Kim Yong-jun. Their music mixed pop, R&B, and hip-hop with vocal harmonies and dance routines.
Their 2003 single "Mary Jane" became their biggest hit, topping charts in South Korea and gaining attention internationally. The song's catchy chorus and smooth vocals made it stand out from their other work like "Ao Redor" and "Dia Após Dia." They released several albums between 1999 and 2009, including "Se7en," "Dogg Pound," "Just Listen," "Crazy," and "Se7olution."
In 2000, the band had contract disputes with their former agency that led to legal issues. Three years later, member Kang Jeong-hoon was arrested for drug possession, which affected the group's reputation. They continued making music after these incidents, but their later work never quite matched the success of "Mary Jane."
