Shadow Project

Shadow Project formed in Los Angeles in the early 2000s around Daniel Myer and Dirk Ivens, both of whom had been working in experimental music. Their sound pulled from electronic, ambient, and industrial textures, which didn't fit neatly into mainstream channels at the time. They built an audience through steady touring.

In 2005, the single 'Forever Came Today' became a turning point, drawing wider attention with its atmospheric blend of haunting melody and ethereal vocals. That led to their debut album 'Shadowplay' in 2006, which critics noted for its layered electronic soundscapes and lyrical depth. Songs like 'Lying Deep' and 'Penny In a Bucket' from their catalog carry that same immersive, mood-driven quality.

They followed with albums like 'In Our Hands' in 2008 and 'Embers of the Past' in 2010, each continuing their exploration of dense, atmospheric electronics. Later releases included 'Shadowplay II' in 2013 and 'Shadowplay III' in 2015, rounding out a discography that stayed focused on their particular blend of shadowy electronics and vocal ambiance.
