Shadowcast

Shadowcast formed in the Pacific Northwest around vocalist and guitarist Ethan James. Their sound drew from the atmospheric textures of bands like Radiohead and Sigur Rós, but they carved out their own space with moody, introspective rock. Songs like "A Farewell to Nowhere" and "Anticipated Resurrection" from their catalog reflect that blend of haunting melody and emotional weight.

Their debut album was called "Echoes from the Abyss," and they followed it with records like "The Weight of the World" and "Veil of Shadows." Those later releases leaned into darker, more experimental territory, mixing rock with ambient and electronic elements. Tracks such as "Antisense" and "Desperate Accuse Dimension" hint at that shift toward a less straightforward sound.

Ethan James was known for being outspoken about the music industry, and the band dealt with rumors of internal conflicts and personal struggles. Those issues sometimes drew attention away from the music itself. Still, the core lineup, James, guitarist Damien Locke, bassist Anya Petrova, and drummer Luke C, held together through various phases, keeping the project alive even when things got messy.
