Shaka Ponk

Shaka Ponk formed in Paris around 2004 with Frah on vocals and guitar, Woodman on drums, Kilmar on bass, Mandris on guitar, and CC handling samplers and turntables. They put out their first album, "Loco Contigo," in 2006, followed by others like "Bad Porn Movie Trax" and "The White Pixel Ape."

Their 2014 album "I'm Picky" gave them a wider reach, with the title track becoming a recognizable hit. Other songs like "French Touch Puta Madre" and "How We Kill Stars" show their mix of rock energy and electronic layers.

They built an audience through live shows, keeping that core lineup together for years. The music doesn't sit neatly in one category, pulling from different rhythms and textures without much concern for fitting in.
