Shane Shu was a band from Dublin, Ireland, fronted by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Shane MacGowan. Their debut single "Push Me to the Ground" came out in 2003 and found an audience. The group released several albums between 2004 and 2012, including Shane Shu, The Salvation Hibernia, Cell Block 13, and The Riddle.
Their sound mixed traditional Irish folk with rock and other styles. MacGowan's lyrics often dealt with love and loss. Another early track, "The Way She Talks To Me," showed their raw, emotional approach.
MacGowan's personal struggles with substance abuse were well-documented and sometimes overshadowed the music. The band's lineup included guitarist Roger Daltrey, bassist Nick Cave, and drummer Clem Burke. They worked with other artists like Johnny Depp and Sinéad O'Connor.
