A Hopeless Tragedy

The road comes to an end

And we let go of pain

I look into the mirror

And see nothing

In pain, in anger and agony, the flame never dies

It carries through our suffering

And just like a phoenix will rise

A face that I once knew so well

Now is nothing but a distant memory

A bad dream that lasted for too long

And not a day goes by I don't think about death

I am scared of taking one more breath

What if it is my last

I'll vanish to the past

Will they write the story of my life

A hopeless tragedy, so sad and full of strife

Should I just keep pretending or tear it all down

And if I don't say a thing, will they still hear my cry

I never really even had a chance

I never really made it through

I hope they can't see

What's living inside me

I hope they can't hear

The secrets I hide within me
