Shelter MC

Shelter MC formed in São Paulo in 2006, with founding members Rodrigo Oliveira, Filipe Ret, and Eduardo Taddeo. They started as a hip-hop collective, and their early work like the 2008 album 'Cenas do Submundo' established their focus on street-level narratives. Their sound pulls from rap, funk, and samba, giving their music a distinctly Brazilian texture.

In 2013, the single 'Cicatrizes' became a breakthrough for the group. That same year they released the album 'Apologia Criminal,' which continued their politically charged approach. Other tracks like 'Impressionante' and 'Valores Trocados' further developed their style of blending social commentary with rhythmic intensity.

Their 2016 album 'Mural' arrived after a period where members faced police detention following a performance critical of authorities. The group has kept recording since, putting out 'Templo de Hera' in 2020. Their lineup has included producers like Lucas Rangel and Paulo Conrado alongside the core vocalists.
