Shining Tears X Wind formed in 2003 with vocalist Kiyono Yasuno and guitarist Hidenori Ishii, later joined by bassist Takamasa Ohta and drummer Hikaru Fujii. Their debut single "Tsuki no Uta" came out in 2004, followed by albums like "Eden" in 2005 and "Fractal" in 2006.
In 2007, the band faced plagiarism accusations regarding their song "Shining Tears," which led to a temporary hiatus. Bassist Ohta left in 2009, and they brought in Naoki Fujino as a replacement. They released the album "Phoenix" in 2011, then "Genesis" in 2015 and "Voyage" in 2018.
