Sibelalas is a Turkish band that formed around lead vocalist Sibel Can. Their 2011 single "Affettim" became a major hit in Turkey, reaching the top of the charts. The song's straightforward ballad style connected with listeners, though it also drew some accusations of plagiarism that the band denied.
They followed up with another single in 2012 called "Son Bir Defa" and released their first album, "Aşkım," in 2013. A second album, "Seninle," came out in 2015. The group's lineup included composer Fatih Kısaparmak, guitarist Kerem Kabadayı, drummer Ömer Öztas, and bassist Can Güney.
Their music generally worked in familiar emotional territory, love and heartbreak, with a direct, melodic approach. "Affettim" remained their signature track, the one most people knew them by.
