Siecrist

Siecrist formed in Ashland, Oregon, with brothers Joel and Aaron Siecrist at the center. They started playing local open mics as teenagers, eventually adding bassist Dave Irlbeck and drummer Mark Trevathan. The band spent their early years touring relentlessly, playing dive bars, college campuses, and festivals while dealing with the usual financial and equipment struggles that come with that life.

Their 2001 debut album "Wake Up" gave them a breakthrough, with the title track becoming a radio anthem. The album's honest lyrics and raw energy connected with listeners, though the band's willingness to address social and political issues in their songs drew some criticism at the time. They followed with albums like "Words Left Unspoken" in 2003, "Fireside" in 2005, and "Red Handed" in 2008.

On stage, Joel Siecrist handled vocals and guitar while Aaron played lead guitar, with Irlbeck and Trevathan rounding out the lineup. They toured extensively and shared bills with acts like Radiohead, Coldplay, and U2. Their live shows were known for their energy, and the band maintained a loyal following through those years of steady touring and recording.
