Sied Van Riel

Sied Van Riel formed in 1995 in Antwerp, Belgium, with singer-songwriter Sied Van Riel, guitarist Peter Van den Berghe, bassist Alain Van den Bossche, and drummer Bart Van Lierde. Their debut album 'As the Rush Comes' came out in 2000, and the title track became a global hit. They followed it with albums like 'A Place to Stay' in 2002, 'Blue Moon' in 2005, and 'A Distant Shore' in 2008.

Their sound has been described as folk, electronica, and ambient, with songs like 'For Your Love' and 'The Offering' showing their atmospheric style. In 2005, they faced a legal dispute over a sample in 'Blue Moon', which was eventually resolved.

Later albums include 'The Long Way Home' from 2012, 'Threads' from 2016, and 'Echoes' from 2020. The band has kept the same lineup since forming, with Sied Van Riel on vocals and guitar, Peter Van den Berghe on guitar, Alain Van den Bossche on bass, and Bart Van Lierde on drums.
