Sier is a Portuguese band that formed in Lisbon in the early 2000s. Their debut album 'Assim É a Vida' came out in 2003, and it included the song 'Finja Que Nunca Me Conheceu,' which became widely known in Portugal.
Pedro Mendes is the singer-songwriter who leads the band. Their music has been described as indie pop with some electronic touches, and Mendes's vocals are often called soulful. In 2005, Mendes had a legal dispute with his former record label, which was covered in the press at the time.
After their debut, Sier released several more albums, including 'Ao Vivo' in 2006, 'Tudo' in 2008, and 'A Vida Que Eu Escolhi' in 2011. Some critics have said their work leans toward melancholy, but the band has kept making music on their own terms.
