Silent Cell formed in Sweden around 2004, with brothers Emil Werstler on vocals and Andreas Werstler on guitar, alongside drummer Andreas Johansson. They released their debut album 'Limitless' in 2007, which established their melodic metal sound with introspective lyrics. The band later added bassist Tobias Gustavsson to their lineup.
Their 2009 album 'The Art of Malice' included the track 'Addicted,' which became one of their most recognized songs. Other notable songs from their catalog include 'All That You Left Behind,' 'Broken Mir,' and 'This Burden.' They went on to release several more albums, including 'The Embrace' in 2011, 'Outbreak' in 2014, and 'Bloodlines' in 2018.
In 2009, Silent Cell faced a legal dispute with their former record label, though they continued working through it. Their music maintained a consistent style of melodic metal with emotional vocals and reflective themes across their releases.
