Silent Pilot formed in Los Angeles in 2011 around multi-instrumentalist Joel Hamilton and vocalist Melissa Kaplan, with drummer Matt Blankenship and bassist Nate Harold completing the initial lineup. Their debut album 'Everything Was Beautiful and Nothing Hurt' came out in 2014, featuring the single 'California.'
After Blankenship and Harold left in 2016, Hamilton and Kaplan continued with drummer Alex White and bassist Mattie Canino. This lineup released the 2018 album 'Modern Rituals.'
They put out another album called 'The Sound of Water' in 2022.
