Silver Convention was a German disco group formed in 1974 by producer Michael Kunze and songwriter Sylvester Levay. Their breakthrough came with the 1975 single 'Fly Robin Fly,' which became an international hit. The track's simple, repetitive lyrics and driving rhythm made it a dance floor staple during disco's peak years.
While 'Fly Robin Fly' remains their best-known song, they followed it with other disco tracks like 'Get Up And Boogie (That's Right)' and 'Chains Of Love.' The group featured vocalists Penny McLean, Ramona Wulf, and Rosy Müller, though the lineup changed several times over their relatively short career.
Silver Convention disbanded around 1980 as disco's popularity waned. Their music, particularly 'Fly Robin Fly,' continues to appear in compilations and occasionally in films or television shows that reference the disco era.
