Silver Dog

Silver Dog formed in São Paulo in the late 1980s with Cláudio Venturini on vocals and guitar, Maurício Barros on bass, and Alexandre Fonseca on drums. They played a darker, more introspective style of rock than what was common at the time, building a following through steady gigging.

Their debut album in 1989 was named after the song "Paraíso Proibido," which became their most recognizable track. The song's themes drew criticism from conservative quarters and led to some radio stations censoring it, though the band didn't change their approach.

They released several more albums in the early and mid-1990s, including Infinito and Entre o Céu e o Inferno. The lineup shifted some over time, but Venturini, Barros, and Fonseca remained the core members who defined the group's sound.
