Silver Eyes

Silver Eyes formed in the coastal town of Salvador, Brazil, with vocalist and songwriter Camila dos Santos at the center. Their early sound drew from the local rhythms of samba and bossa nova, though they had trouble finding an audience at first. They kept playing small shows and gradually developed a following.

Their second album, "Além dos Círculos do Mar e do Mundo," gave them a clearer direction. The title track and songs like "Lacrimosa" and "Fighters' Hearts Never Die" showed them moving beyond straightforward folk, adding ambient textures and electronic touches. Camila's voice, both delicate and firm, carried lyrics that sometimes addressed political themes, which drew mixed reactions from listeners and critics.

They've put out three studio albums in total, including their debut "Sonhos de Areia" and the more expansive "Além dos Círculos do Mar e do Mundo." The music doesn't settle into one genre, but it usually feels spacious and reflective, with Camila's writing focused on personal and sometimes social observations.
