Silveira e Silveirinha were a Brazilian duo formed in 1933 by Francisco Silveira and Luiz Gonzaga da Silveira, who met in Itapeva, São Paulo. Their early work included songs like 'Linda Cigana,' which became popular in 1935. They recorded over 40 albums across genres like sertanejo and samba, with other notable tracks including 'Canarinho do Peito Amarelo' and 'Hoje Está Fazendo Um Ano.'

In the 1950s, Silveirinha was involved in a shooting incident during a concert in Rio de Janeiro, though he was later acquitted. The duo also faced some government censorship earlier in their career over lyrical content. Despite this, they kept performing and recording for decades.

Their music often dealt with themes of rural life and romance, as heard in songs like 'O Que Tem A Rosa' and 'Coração da Pátria.' Silveira played guitar while Silveirinha handled vocals, creating a sound that remained familiar to Brazilian audiences through the mid-20th century.
